We learn from a very early age, that it is wrong to get angry, and that we should avoid expressing ourselves in this manner.

Most of us are taught as children that we shouldn’t get angry, and as we mature into adulthood, we can sometimes continue to suppress these feelings, believing this to be the proper way to act.

We should instead be taught, that it can be both physically and emotionally healthy to express our feelings in a controlled manner, rather than allowing these emotions to become so pent-up that one may explode.

Repressed anger, may lead to an outburst of emotion, especially when held back over the course of many years. Such outbursts can at times be ferocious and uncontrolled, and these may reach a point where one’s feelings can no longer be ‘bottled up’.
