"I wonder just how much consideration we give to how our psychological health effects our physical health and vice versa? "

We are more aware then ever about the term ‘mental health’, much is said and written about this subject and we have a greater awareness of when we have a mental health issue. I wonder just how much consideration we give to how our psychological health effects our physical health and vice versa?

Have you ever heard of homeostasis?

The best description I can give, in as few words as possible, would be to imagine the sort of child’s toy that hangs over a baby’s cot, now imagine attaching a weight to just one part of this, the toy would now be out of balance.

"Rather than looking at skin problems, as a problem, look at them more as a signal that our bodies eco system is unbalanced"

We can get creams to treat psoriasis, eczema, acne, and a whole host of other skin conditions, but are we just trying to wallpaper over the crack, in a metaphorical sense?

Surely, it would be better to look at the root cause and whether stress is a factor.

Our skin is an organ, the largest and most visible organ one we have, and it can be a good barometer of our health and wellbeing, both physically and psychologically.

I would always suggest consulting with a doctor or medical professional about skin problems, to determine whether the issues are physical rather than psychological, although there will be a combination of both.

If the problem is psychological, then I am well equipped to help.

Each and every one of us, can be affected by stress and excessive stress can start to impact our nervous system, and there is often a, direct correlation between skin condition, dermatological problems, and stress.

Hypnotherapy is in my opinion, one of the best stress relivers around and in its simplest form, it is guided mediation. Many know the benefits of mediation, few practice it, so, the starting point would be to teach a client how to relax and I help by providing effective tools, tips, and techniques.

So, in a nutshell, seek medical advice first, determine the cause and consider the benefits of seeking psychological help where required.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY

Why choose me to help?

Around 1% of UK Hypnotherapists complete an advanced hypnotherapy qualification and whilst I am unsure of the actual numbers within each professional body, and even less so overseas, I know that this is the case with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council and within my membership of the General Hypnotherapy Register. I have made the effort and investment required to complete this next phase of my professional development and can call myself an Advanced Practitioner.

In studying for my Advanced Hypnotherapy Diploma (NQF 6), I was fortunate enough to study with ex-Sheffield Hallam University lecturer Doctor Paul Peace, Philosophy (PHD), Psychology, and Karen Bartle who holds a master’s degree in Health/Medical Psychology.

Throughout my career as a Hypnotherapist, I have been fortunate to study with people whom I consider to be some of the best in the business and in addition to studying with Karen and Paul, I trained with Matthew Ferguson and he has worked with Olympic athletes, Doctors and Psychiatrists to name but a few professions and he has over 25 years’ experience of Hypnosis and Clinical Hypnotherapy, and he also shared some fantastic knowledge and expertise with me.

I was also, fortunate enough to study with Nick Davies who created the BLAST Technique®

The studying I completed with Nick, sees me able to resolve negative memories through eye movement, and this is one of the most valuable skills I possess. I have studied numerous times with him and there are less than 50 Advanced BLAST Technique practitioner® in the world (3/2/21), of which I am one.

In short, I have an Advanced Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy, I am a Master Practitioner of Neuro-linguistic programming, a skilled eye movement therapist, a qualified Advanced BLAST Technique practitioner®, as well as also being a Motivation Therapist and Coach. I have helped thousands of people and I am confident that my help will positively make a difference, however, rather take my word for this, I would encourage you to read the reviews left by others, you can do this by clicking the link below.
